Q: Will the HT3189 work with my TV/audio source?

The HT3189 ONLY works directly with the 3.5mm/AUX or the RCA audio out (TV Red/White ports labeled "AUDIO OUT"!).

Q: What should I do if my TV only has Digital (Optical/Coaxial) or HDMI (ARC) audio out?

For TVs with only Optical/Coaxial output, you will need a Digital to 3.5/RCA Audio Converter, e.g. the Avantree DAC02, to convert your digital signal to 3.5/RCA audio signal.
For TVs with only HDMI (ARC) audio out, then you will need to purchase an HDMI to RCA converter separately, e.g. the Avantree ADC04.

Q: Will HT3189 work with my AV receiver?

For AV receivers with a 6.35mm phone jack at the front, you will need to purchase a 6.35mm to 3.5mm audio adapter to work with the HT3189.

Q1 : My TV speakers go silent (become muted) when I use the Avantree Bluetooth transmitter. Can I make them work simultaneously while using the transmitter?

This is a TV feature and its availability depends on your TV make and model.

For many models of TV, the built-in speakers might not work if you choose to use an external speaker. They will either automatically mute when you plug something into an audio output port (AUX, RCA, Optical, etc.) or they become disabled once you choose "External Speakers" as your TV's audio output. Some newer TVs however, allow you to play audio from both the TV's internal speakers and an external audio device simultaneously. For example the newer LG TVs with WebOS versions 3.0 and 3.5 have this feature but Samsung TVs still do not. In the LG TV WebOS 3.0 / 3.5 example, you can enable this feature by changing the TV AUDIO OUT setting from "Internal TV Speaker" to “Internal TV Speaker + Optical”. Now all audio will simultaneously come from both your TV's speakers and the device connected to the digital optical audio output port.

If your TV does not support this feature, then you can consider the Avantree Oasis Plus + Audition Pro and an external speaker. The Avantree Oasis Plus has a convenient bypass feature which allows you to share the TV audio simultaneously with an EXTERNAL SPEAKER and a pair of Bluetooth headphones.

Q2: Will the HT3189 work with my TV?

If your TV has a port labeled “Digital Audio Out (Optical)”, then you need the Avantree HT4189 NOT the HT3189.
If your TV has either a headphone jack or an RCA audio OUTPUT port, then the HT3189 will work with your TV. Some TVs only have RCA INPUT and no RCA OUTPUT ports. To check, please do the following：

1) Check if the RCA ports are labeled “AUDIO OUT”. Unlabeled RCA ports are INPUT and are unsuitable.

2) Plug any wired headphone into the RCA port with the included 3.5mm AUX to RCA cable - you should hear sound.

Q3. How do I set up the HT3189 to work with my TV / PC / AV Receiver?

Please closely follow the step-by-step instruction instructions in the User Guide bundled with the HT3189 to connect it with your TV/audio source. You can also visit Youtube and search for "HT3189 user guide video".

Q4. I already plugged everything in, but I still can't hear any sound from the headset?

The most frequent causes of this are the following:

1) Non valid audio signal being fed into the transmitter

If you're using the RCA ports on your TV, ensure you use the red/white ports labeled “AUDIO OUT”, any other (non-labeled) red/white ports are incorrect and usually for input.

Check if you can hear any sound by plugging the headphones directly into the TV audio out.

Be sure to change your TV audio OUT setting to "External Speakers" (if using RCA Audio OUT and Optical OUT) or "Headset" (if using AUX/3.5mm OUT).

If you're using a DAC, ensure you change your TV's audio format to“PCM".

2) The Transmitter and Headphones aren't connected properly

Turn both devices off and on, they should auto-reconnect to each other. If for any reason they don't reconnect please follow the directions in the User Manual to manually pair and connect them.

Q5. How can I simultaneously get sound from both my TV speakers and the headphones?

For many older models of TV, the internal TV speaker is muted when any of the audio output ports are connected (AUX, RCA, Optical, etc). For some TVs, e.g. LG, you can choose to play audio from the internal TV speakers and an external audio device simultaneously. Please try to change your TV settings or ask your TV manufacturer for more help.
If your family prefers to listen to the TV speakers while you use the Bluetooth headphone, then one work around is to use an audio splitter with an external speaker. e.g. use a 3.5mm audio splitter (e.g. Avantree TR302) to share the TV audio with an EXTERNAL SPEAKER in addition to the HT3189.

Q6. Can I add a 2nd pair of headphones to HT3189?

Yes, you can add a 2nd pair of headphones to the HT3189. Please refer to the User Manual for step-by-step instructions or ask Avantree for help.

Q7. Are the headphones the Audition Pro?

The headphones in the HT3189 set are the AS9S NOT the Audition Pro.

Although I have only had these headphones for 24 hours, initial impression is that they are excellent in every respect. Firstly, they are so easy to pair with any Bluetooth enabled device. Setting up to the TV was simple as outlined in the instructions, as was pairing - as stand alone headphones, without the transmitter, to my Apple Watch, iPhone and Mac. Range is quite surprising and not only covers all of our (fairly large} house but also across the road to our neighbour's garden!
I have a fairly varied taste in music - from John Mayall, Clapton and Dire Straits through to Beethoven and Handel and I have to say that I am more than pleased with these headphones capability of dealing with all sorts of music. The sound reproduction is very accurate.
Very comfortable to wear and time will tell how long-lasting they are - but at the moment, I am very pleased with my purchase - especially as I had £45 in Amazon vouchers to spend which made these for nothing!

Really soft comfortable headphones that were easy to setup and use with our TV. I have worn these watching many a long movie and they are very comfortable and really produce excellent sounds.

They are also easy to pair and use with any Bluetooth enabled device.

These were bought primarily to use with our TV so I wasn't expecting the range to be so impressive going around the house while listening to music.

I highly recommended these not only for use with TV ( there is no lag at all ), but also for listening to music via phone, laptop etc.

I also connect the Bluetooth adapter to my amp when playing guitar and they handle the sound really well.

The support from Avantree is also fantastic. I had my headphones for a year and the Bluetooth adapter which is used with the TV started to produce some static noise. I contacted Avantree and they suggested un-pairing the adapter and the headphones and then pairing them again, this did not clear the noise so Avantree promptly sent me a new pair of headphones with an updated Bluetooth adapter. That is brilliant support.

As I said previously I highly recommended this set.

i sent for these headphones because of the promise of an easy tv connection and they did not disappoint .when i received the delivery of the phones they came ready charged and paired with the transmitter .the transmitter is the part that plugs into the device you are wanting to use the headphones with .i put mine into the phono socket on the tv put on the headphones pushed and held the button on the phones a voice came into the phones informing me that we had connected to the sender then the sound from the tv came through very clearly its that easy.The sound is easly as good as phones costing considerably more money and the playing time before needing a charge is outstandingly long witch is good because i fined these headphones to be very comfortable for long periods of use .for ease of use for very good surround sound for the longevity of the battery comfort of the ear pieces and the price of the phones in my opinion these headphones are hard to beat .

Pretty good quality for music although bass is slightly higher than my personal preference. Range seems good although not relevant if tv watching and audio lag is barely discernible. Cuffie di ottima fattura, il collegamento è veloce e non necessitano di pairing perchè già preimpostato dal produttore, nel caso dovesse servire è possibile comunque rieseguire il pairing in maniera molto semplice. Il codec aptx azzera la latenza e quindi non incorrerete in problemi di lag tra immagine e suono, il trasmettitore è veramente piccolo e ha la base magnetica in più vi è apposto un adesivo per bloccarla in caso non siano presenti punti in metallo dove ancorarla. Non ho ancora testato la durata della batteria, ma sembra molto promettente, la cuffia è molto comoda e si è ben isolati dai rumori esterni anche se solo in maniera passiva, avrei preferito delle frequenze medio alte leggermente più presenti, ma nel complesso sono molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto!

Ordered on Amazon and received the next day. No tax or shipping. Well packed. Charged headphones before using. Hooked up to TV using AV output with the adapter into the transmitter. Older LCD TV, so no USB for power. Used an adapter that I already had for plugging into AC. Paired quickly when I turned it on and sounds good. Use it in the bedroom when my wife wants to sleep and works well. One of our dogs chewed up the cords on 2 previous wired headphones, so decided to eliminate that issue, finally. Only issue is this: I have ATT UVerse and have a DVR in my living room and a wireless box in the bedroom. I've noticed occasionally that the video stops briefly, whether on live TV or a recording. This has happened before I had these headphones, but seems more frequent now. Not really sure if the bluetooth signal is interfering with the Uverse receiver or not. The bluetooth transmitter is sitting directly on top of the receiver, so could be an issue. Nonetheless, not a dealbreaker. Love it so far.
Update: In early May of 2019, the transmitter portion died. I reached out to Avantree to see if they sold the transmitter unit by itself. Told them it was around a year old. They asked for the exact model number and I had to look it up on Amazon where I ordered it from. Found out, it had been just over 1 year since my purchase, but the item description said 2 year warranty. I sent this info to Avantree. They promptly replied asking for my confirmation of all the pertinent info on the order, such as order number, address, etc. I replied to them and they said they were sending out a replacement to me. Said after I receive it to let them know and they would give me a return label for the bad unit. Promptly received the replacement...it was a completely new set of headphones, transmitter, and everything else. I was pleasantly surprised. Hooked everything up and am happy to say that I am back in business again. I let them know that all was fine and that they could send me return label and I would be happy to return the bad one. They told me to not worry about it, that they were happy to help out. Just wanted to praise their wonderful customer service. I would not hesitate to order from them again. Actually debating on getting the upgraded version with pass through option for my living room TV. My wife is hard of hearing and I think this would be a good solution for both of us.

Lorsque je l'ai commandé, je ne connaissais pas la marque Avantree. Je m'étais dis pour regarder la TV ou la console quand les gamins dorment, ça ira bien....
Aujourd'hui je fais tester ce casque à qui souhaite s'équiper ! Tous me le rendent une fois le leur reçu... Bleuffés par la qualité du rendu sonore. Et ce malgré une prise en charge seulement à partir de 20MHtz.
Le son est juste....et puissant.
Puissant : de part le volume qui nous est possible ! Et sans saturation.
Juste : car très bien reparti,bon calibrage medium/basse/aigu.
Évidemment toujours un pour dire pas assez de basse, dans ce cas je lui conseille de jouer de l'équaliser de son support... Mais soyons honnêtes celui qui tien ce discours n'est pas un mélomane.
La fonction microphone du casque est un plus. J'utilise de plus en plus souvent mon casque comme kit mains libres.
Je suis réellement satisfait de ce produit et le recommande sans hésiter et sans aucun point faible !
Je n'est pas évoqué la batterie : pour être honnête je ne me souviens jamais de la dernière fois où je l'ai mis en charge. De façon certaine je dépasse les 30heures d'utilisation.

Me han sorprendido para bien estos cascos que cumplen perfectamente su cometido. En principio los compré para usarlos en PS4, dado que no hay mucha oferta de inalambricos, opté por estos antes que por los Gold de Sony ya que su uso en otros dispositivos le daban mucha mayor versatilidad.

El sonido es bastante bueno, no excelso, pero cumple con creces. El micro es mediocre, aunque aún no encontré ningún casco de menos de 150€ con un micro decente, apto para conversar por teléfono o in-game, pero no recomendable para editar videos o retransmitir en streaming.

La comodidad me ha sorprendido ya que he visto varios comentarios negativos sobre este aspecto y para mi ha sido al contrario, son extremadamente ligeros, al ponérmelos tenía la sensación de que estaban holgados y dados de sí, pero no estaban bien fijos, lo que pasa es que no hacen una presión tan grande como otros auriculares; sus orejeras recubren todo el pabellón auditivo y tras un tiempo de uso no mostré signos de fatiga ni de incomodidad.

Su baja latencia les hacen unos excelentes cascos gaming aunque no hayan sido diseñados para ello.

Zum Einsatz kommt er am TV meiner 80 jährigen Mutter. Nach der sehr einfachen Inbetriebnahme war ich von der sehr guten Klangqualität überrascht...sowas hätte ich für diesen Preis nicht erwartet! Auch die alte Dame lobt den Klang und besonders den, auch bei längerer Nutzung sehr angenehmen Tragekomfort. Einzig die Tasten für die Lautstärke sind gerade für ältere Menschen nicht so einfach zu bedienen. Klasse Gerät!
